Proper Journal is an editorially-driven design system and pitch deck created for Proper Hotels, conceived to transform dense business information into a visually compelling, magazine-worthy experience. Inspired by the visual language of high-fashion and lifestyle publications, this project bridges the worlds of print craftsmanship and digital innovation — making investor presentations, brand partnerships, and internal communications as engaging as they are effective. Approaching the work through a print lens, every layout, typographic choice, and visual hierarchy decision was informed by the editorial standards of luxury fashion and culture publications. The result is a living, adaptive design framework that commands attention in any context — from boardrooms to inboxes.
What sets Proper Journal apart is its versatility. The system is architected to seamlessly serve multiple touchpoints: investor pitch presentations, new business acquisition, brand partnership decks, monthly internal reporting, newsletter bulletins, editorial blog content, and consumer-facing print or digital magazines. One cohesive design language, endless application. The integration of motion, video, and digital interactivity elevates the experience beyond static print — ensuring efficient outreach and modern engagement without sacrificing the tactile sophistication that defines luxury brand communication. This project demonstrates the power of art direction as a strategic business tool: when design meets editorial thinking, even the heaviest data becomes a story worth reading.
